Bradley Walsh had heard plenty of terrible guesses on The Chase—but when schoolteacher Nicola stumbled over a question connected to her own profession, even he could no longer keep a straight face. 😳😂

The Chase's Bradley Walsh tries not to laugh at player's terrible guesses

The Chase host Bradley Walsh got the giggles as teacher Nicola gave some incorrect but hilarious guesses in her cash builder round

The Chase host Bradley Walsh is used to hearing a range of wrong answers on the show, and he does not usually lose his cool while reading out the questions.

But even he could not prevent a giggle from escaping when charming contestant Nicola guessed some real duds during her cash builder round.

Nicola seemed a little put off by the pressure of TV, understandably, and she missed some answers viewers felt were blindingly obvious.

Her worst mistake was likely guessing “Martin Kemp” on a question asking which Hollywood actor starred in Grosse Point Blank.

And when asked: “What is the usual term for the area served by a school?” Nicola guessed: “The playground?”

The answer was, of course, the catchment area, and some viewers were shocked a teacher would get it wrong.

On the question: “Taking the form of a jaguar, Tezcatilpoca was god of the night sky in what mythology?”

Nicola guessed: “Egyptian, because they worshipped cats and jaguar is a cat isn’t it?”

Staring at her, Bradley said: “Where do you find a jaguar?”

Nicola replied: “The Amazon? Oh it’s Aztec isn’t it…” as the screen told her she had guessed incorrectly from the options Egyptian, Aztec and Polynesian.

After her cash builder, Nicola remarked: “I don’t really know what to say there…”

Bradley told Nicola at least she managed to accumulate £2,000 in her cash builder

“Did she…I…I hope her students are watching this #thechase,” joked another.

“Teacher on #TheChase unsure about term ‘catchment area’. Put it down to nerves :-)” wrote a third.

“That was absolutely DISASTROUS, even for a teacher! I mean, Martin Kemp?! #TheChase,” ranted a fourth.

Nicola played against Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan in the next round, but sadly got caught and was sent home empty-handed.
