Emmerdale's Emma Atkins emotional over co-star's exit 'hope we keep in touch'

Emma Atkins has gushed over her Emmerdale co-star following their shock village exit.
Emma joined the ITV soap in 2000 as Charity Dingle – and it’s fair to say Charity has become one of the show’s most beloved characters.
She’s also been involved in some big storylines during her stint. From Charity’s many romances to the arrival of her long-lost daughter Debbie Dingle (Charley Webb), her time in the Dales has not been short of drama.
Especially recently, as earlier this year she was the victim of a vile sexual assault by evil Dr Caitlin Todd (Caroline Harker) who blackmailed her over the true parentage of Leyla Sugden.

The sinister doctor has since departed the village to take up a new position in Sheffield, while Charity continues to struggle in the wake of the attack. However, a flashforward recently revealed that Dr Todd will soon be murdered, confirming the actress’ exit from the soap.
It’s not known how yet or if someone is to blame, but it’s teased that someone will kill her as there was a crime scene. And in a recent interview, Charity star Emma had nothing but kind words to say about Dr Todd actress Caroline Harker.

“I can’t big this woman up enough. I adore her; she is so gorgeous in every way. She’s such a team player and that’s what she brought every day,” Emma told Reach and other media.
The soap star went on: “Just a delight to work with, we were serious when we needed to be serious and then when we needed to switch off from it because of the nature of it, we would have a giggle together as friends.”
Dr Todd was killed off in a flashforward
Emma continued: “I hope to keep in touch with her. Well we text each other from time to time but what an incredible actress. Just wow, no one could have played it as well.”
Dr Todd made her debut on the soap last year. At first she, made medical student Jacob Sugden’s (Joe-Warren Plant) work a living nightmare.
Not only did she push him to his absolute limits, she also gaslit him, calling him out over his mistakes. Dr Todd then turned her attention to Charity and blackmailed her for weeks over the true parentage of Leyla Sugden before sexually assaulting her.
