According to multiple media reports, comedy legend Roy Hudd stunned Bradley Walsh by pausing to chat during his quick-fire Cash Builder round on The Chase, costing himself valuable seconds. Bradley even joked they would have won much more money if Roy hadn’t stopped to talk.

THE Chase host Bradley Walsh was left stunned after a celebrity contestant on the quiz stopped to chat in the middle of his cash-builder round.

Roy Hudd, 81, appeared on the gameshow alongside fellow actor Phil Daniels, Emmerdale star Isabel Hodgins and Strictly dancer Jeanette Manrara.

He was last to face the chaser Paul ‘Sinnerman’ Sinha after his teammates bagged their places in the final chase.

Roy then had to face a series of quick-fire questions in the cash builder round, in just one minute.

But he left Bradley shocked when he started talking about the answer to a question despite time running out.

After being asked when the World War Two blackout ended, Roy said: “The blackout… that would have been about 19… not until 1946.”

But the quiz host had to correct him, telling him the right answer of 1945.

At the end of the minute Roy had five correct answers, amassing £5,000.

Bradley told Roy: “Five grand isn’t bad, but we’d have much more if you hadn’t stopped for a conversation in the middle of it”
But despite Bradley’s quip, Roy won £83,000 when he went head to head with the chaser

And Bradley quipped: “Five grand isn’t bad, but we’d have much more if you hadn’t stopped for a conversation in the middle of it.”

But despite being teased, Roy then had a storming round when he went head to head with Sinnerman, and brought back £83,000 for his team.

And viewers on social media couldn’t help but root for the veteran actor.

Unfortunately, Roy’s hardwork didn’t pay off as in the final chase, the celebs were caught and lost out on £100,000 for their charities.
