According to multiple media reports, Bradley Walsh sparked a wave of reactions after pronouncing the name of a Scottish town in a way many viewers insisted was incorrect. While the contestant answered the question correctly, the debate quickly shifted away from the quiz and onto the host’s unexpected slip.

BRADLEY Walsh left viewers up in arms tonight after mispronouncing the name of a Scottish town.

The ITV quiz show’s host made an outrageous blunder, according to some fans, when he referred to it as “Skon”.

The correct way to say the name of the village in Perth and Kinross is “Skoon”.

The question, faced by contestant Suzanne, 66, asked: “Which Shakespeare play ends with the line ‘Whom we invite to see us crown’d at Scone’?”

Suzanne, a carer originally from Gwent, Wales, who had gambled on the higher offer of £48,000, made the Scottish connection and answered correctly with Macbeth.

But many viewers were distracted by Bradley’s awkward gaffe.

One tweeted: “Ridiculous pronunciation of Scone the place on #TheChase just there.”

Another commented: “Everyone in Scone now angry at @BradleyWalsh for mispronouncing the town name on #TheChase. They get really ratty about that!”

Cheeky Suzanne went on to make Chaser Mark Labbett blush when she asked him “what he wanted to do with her”.

In response, Bradley quipped: “I don’t know what to say about that folks.”

Sadly Suzanne was caught by The Beast and went home empty-handed – as did her teammates in the final chase.
