The 1% Club question that won contestant £100k jackpot
ITV’s The 1% Club aired its first episode of the series on Saturday, January 10 seeing a rare £100,000 jackpot win. One contestant Maccisha was pegged ‘a favourite to win’ by Lee Mack earlier in the episode and made it all the way to the end to take home the cash prize.
The quiz show sees 100 contestants begin as they try to pass a series of increasingly difficult logical problems. If anyone can answer the question only 1% of the population could get correct, then they could head home with a huge jackpot.
Contestants of all ages and backgrounds can take part, because logic and common sense are the key to success, rather than general knowledge.

Fans took to X on Saturday night to share praise for Maccisha’s success as she worked out the answer to a particularly tough question only few at home could guess.
One fan said: “Amazing, congratulations lovey”, while another wrote: “We’ve got our first ever winner of the full prize pot in one show. Whole £100,000 won #the1percentclub.”

The 1% Club account on X posted a picture of Maccisha at the moment of her success, saying: “That moment you realise you are the first winner of the full £100k on The 1% Club.”

The success of The 1% Club has seen the show win a host of awards including National TV Awards for best quiz show, a Broadcast Award for best entertainment award and a Rose d’Or for best entertainment show.
Lee Mack was also nominated for BAFTA for best entertainment performance. Prior to his appearance on the quiz show, the comedy star is well known for writing and starring in Not Going Out, and for serving as a team captain on BBC One’s Would I Lie To You?
