ANN Widdecombe’s home was shown on national television just five days before she was killed, The Sun can reveal.
TV channel Quest aired an episode of Celebrity Yorkshire Auction House featuring the late 78-year-old politician on July 2, TV listings show.
In the episode, the inside of Ann’s £600,000 Dartmoor bungalow is shown in extensive detail as she gives host Angus Ashworth a guided tour.
The home, in Haytor, Devon, was where she was murdered on Wednesday after sustaining blunt force trauma to the head.
It includes shots of her front door, garden, conservatory, gym, library, kitchen and dining area.
The hour-long season two episode was originally aired in 2022 but was reshown in the 6pm timeslot five days before she was killed at around 12.30pm on July 7.
In the show, Ann, described as a “retired politician”, attempts to fetch a specific asking price for her parents’ unique Japanese Satsuma dish, a scarf, bag, and a teddy bear.
A range of videos of her home’s exterior and interior are shown, while the home described as being “on the idyllic Devonshire coast”.
Ann told the show of her house: “I came down here quite deliberately to be as remote as I could, as was sensible.
“I’ve got what I want, which is peace, quiet, solitude.
“Of course, I’m friendly with some of the neighbours. I’m not a recluse.
“Part of the retirement plan was to have a clear-out of old things.”
Arriving at the home, Ashworth, 41, says: “Lovely little house, isn’t it.”
Ann made £1,445 from selling her items on the show, with the Japanese plate fetching £660.
There is no suggestion that visuals of the home on TV inspired or led to Ann’s killing.
Quest TV, owned by Warner Brothers Discovery, was approached for comment.
