‘The Traitors: New Blood’ Just Delivered Its Best Episode Yet — And I’m Rooting for Victor to Survive
The Traitors: New Blood has finally delivered the kind of episode that makes reality competition television so addictive. Episode 6, “A Murder of Necessity,” featured a daring murder in plain sight, a clever clue involving poisoned fruit and one Faithful contestant who may have figured out the truth — only to find that nobody wants to believe him.
The episode’s biggest talking point, now dubbed #FruitGate, has made Victor Vollbrechthausen one of the most compelling players to watch. He appears to have identified two Traitors, Tomica and Joe, but his suspicions have yet to convince the rest of the cast. And with Victor now in the crosshairs, I’m genuinely worried about what comes next.
#FruitGate Delivers the Season’s Most Entertaining Twist

After a slower installment the previous week, The Traitors: New Blood came roaring back with Episode 6. The NBC version of the Emmy-winning reality franchise has traded its familiar celebrity format for a cast of everyday contestants, and the change has made for some particularly entertaining gameplay.
This week’s mission for the Traitors was especially audacious. Rather than relying on the usual secrecy of a nighttime murder, they had to eliminate a Faithful in plain sight by throwing an apple at them and getting them to catch it.
It was an unusually conspicuous move, one that seemed almost certain to attract attention. Yet despite the risks involved, Victor was the only contestant to recognize that something suspicious was happening with the fruit in the kitchen.
The episode also revealed that Niyyah had been murdered in plain sight, adding another layer of intrigue to an already tense game.
Victor connected the dots and began suspecting that the apples were being used as part of the Traitors’ plan. More impressively, he identified both Tomica and Joe as potential culprits.
For viewers who know the Traitors’ identities, watching Victor get so close to the truth was thrilling. Unfortunately, figuring out the answer and persuading everyone else to believe it are two very different challenges.
Why Nobody Seems Willing to Trust Victor

Victor’s theory should have given the Faithful a valuable lead. Joe, in particular, had been acting suspiciously, carrying apples around and throwing them at people multiple times the night before.
But Victor appears to lack the social influence needed to turn his suspicions into votes.
Some of his fellow contestants have been wary of him since Day 1, when he attracted attention for being a “sweaty boy” after Alan selected the Traitors at the Round Table. That early suspicion may now be making it harder for Victor to convince the group that he has uncovered something important.
It is one of the most frustrating parts of watching The Traitors. Viewers have information the contestants do not, so we can recognize when a Faithful is getting close to the truth. Seeing that person dismissed despite having a potentially game-changing theory can be agonizing.
Still, the disconnect between what the audience knows and what the players believe is also a big part of the show’s appeal. Victor’s predicament is entertaining precisely because his discovery could change everything — if only he can get someone to listen.
He may have the right suspects, but without the trust of his fellow Faithful, even the strongest evidence can struggle to make an impact.
Tomica and Joe Face a Difficult Decision

The stakes became even higher at the end of the episode, when Tomica confirmed that Victor was her next murder target.
I’m hoping that plan does not come to pass.
So far, the Faithful have failed to banish a single Traitor, and Victor could be the player who finally changes that. His suspicions about Tomica and Joe give the group a possible path forward, provided he gets another opportunity to make his case.
For the Traitors, however, eliminating him could come with serious consequences. If Victor is murdered after openly expressing suspicions about them, his death could make Tomica and Joe look even more suspicious.
Leaving him in the game carries its own risks. Victor could persuade the others to take his theory seriously, potentially rallying enough votes to send one or both Traitors home.
That leaves the pair facing an uncomfortable choice: remove a contestant who may be onto them and risk drawing attention, or allow him to continue investigating.
Either way, #FruitGate has put the game in an intriguing position. Victor’s survival could give the Faithful a much-needed breakthrough, while his elimination would leave viewers wondering how close the group came to uncovering the truth.
Will Victor Make It to the Next Episode?

With the next episode approaching, Victor’s fate is one of the biggest questions hanging over The Traitors: New Blood. He has shown the instincts needed to identify suspicious behavior, but his lack of credibility within the group could prove just as important as his ability to solve the mystery.
The season has already offered plenty of entertaining moments, but Episode 6 stands out because Victor’s discovery creates a genuine dilemma for the Traitors. They cannot ignore the possibility that he might expose them, yet acting against him could make his suspicions look more convincing.
New episodes of The Traitors: New Blood air Thursdays on NBC as part of the 2026 television schedule.
For now, I’m keeping my fingers crossed that Victor survives the night. After coming so close to identifying two Traitors, he deserves another chance to turn #FruitGate into the breakthrough the Faithful desperately need.
