Survivor 51’s Brady Booker Breaks Down His Blindside, Accuses Devin of a Strategic Setup and Opens Up About His Fallout With Mike
Brady Booker’s time on Survivor 51 came to an end at the first post-merge Tribal Council, but the professional wrestler believes there was much more happening behind the scenes than viewers saw on television.
The 27-year-old became the season’s first jury member after receiving nine votes against Eric Macksoud’s four during Wednesday’s episode. His elimination followed a dramatic sequence of events involving Mike Pinsky, who secured immunity before turning against Brady, and Angelica “Jelly” Loblack, who pushed to target him because she felt he was “bringing a level of toxicity” to the game.

In an interview with Men’s Journal the morning after the episode aired, Brady reflected on the blindside, his deteriorating relationship with Mike and the conversations that ultimately contributed to his downfall. He also revealed a previously unseen interaction involving Devin Way, suggesting that Devin may have deliberately steered him and Carter Krull toward a plan that would expose their intentions to Kristin Flickinger.
Despite the disappointment, Brady said he was grateful for the experience and believed his appearance on the show had opened new professional opportunities in wrestling.
Brady Believes Devin Set Him Up Before Tribal Council

One of Brady’s biggest revelations concerned a conversation that did not make the final episode.
According to Brady, Devin approached him and Carter before Tribal Council and suggested that they bring Mike into their plan to vote out Kristin. At the time, Brady believed the suggestion was an attempt to keep Mike involved in their alliance.
Looking back, however, he suspects Devin knew exactly how Mike would react.
Brady believes Devin anticipated that Mike would immediately reveal the plan to Kristin, potentially turning the situation against him. That is precisely what Brady says happened.
After hearing the proposal, Mike allegedly went straight to Kristin and told her about the plan. Brady said he could see the move unfolding and quickly realized that something had gone wrong.
He now considers Devin’s decision a brilliant strategic play, even though it came at his expense.
“Phenomenal gameplay move by him,” Brady said, admitting that the realization still hurt.
The situation reinforced Brady’s feeling that he never had a genuine number-one ally in the game.

He initially considered Devin his closest strategic partner, particularly because Devin had been his first friend on the island. Brady said Devin had shared certain information with him that he had not disclosed to others, including details about something he found involving Sharonda Cox.
As the game progressed, however, Brady began questioning where his loyalties truly stood.
He considered several other players, including Danny Kilby, Carter and Lewis Kelly, as possible closest allies. But when his name became a potential target, he felt nobody was willing to make a decisive effort to protect him.
Brady acknowledged that Carter and Lewis had their own positions to consider and understood why they ultimately looked after themselves. Nevertheless, he felt he had been left without the strong personal alliance he needed to survive.
Brady Opens Up About His Fallout With Mike Pinsky

Brady also addressed his increasingly strained relationship with Mike, a player whose social approach and decisions had become a source of tension within the group.
He said he understood that the two men came from very different backgrounds and had contrasting personalities.
While Mike was more reserved and careful about sharing information, Brady described himself as energetic, outspoken and naturally confrontational when difficult conversations needed to happen.
Brady explained that he initially believed he and Mike were building a genuine friendship. They had been part of a five-person group, discussed sports and baseball, and shared personal experiences.
He also said Mike had opened up about certain emotional matters, while their conversations about sports helped them develop a connection.
However, Brady gradually became frustrated by what he viewed as Mike’s reluctance to share information with the wider group.

In Brady’s opinion, information was essential to building trust and maintaining relationships in Survivor. He felt Mike was mostly sharing information with Patt Cannaday and Jelly rather than involving everyone in the alliance.
Brady also recalled that he had tried to keep Mike included after the group reached the Toka 2.0 beach.
He believed Maggie Nestor and Thien An Nguyen were becoming increasingly critical of Mike, while Kristin was also growing frustrated with him. Brady said he attempted to defend Mike and keep him involved because he thought they still had a working relationship.
When Mike won an important challenge, Brady even congratulated him and hugged him, believing the victory had helped both of them.
“I thought Mike was with,” Brady explained, saying he genuinely believed they had developed a connection.
But the relationship eventually deteriorated.
Brady acknowledged that his energetic personality may have been overwhelming for Mike. He also recognized that his comments and repeated questions could have come across as irritating, even when he believed he was simply trying to maintain communication.
He wished they had been able to address their differences directly, but suggested Mike was less comfortable with difficult conversations.
Brady said he had become accustomed to intense discussions through his athletic and wrestling experiences, where receiving criticism and confronting problems were part of improving performance.
He also understood that his enthusiasm could sometimes be misinterpreted.
According to Brady, people occasionally perceived him as angry or aggressive when he was simply excited and enjoying himself. He believed that difference in communication styles may have contributed to the growing tension.
Brady Explains Why He Was Voted Out

Watching the episode back gave Brady a different perspective on the events leading to his elimination.
Although he expected to receive some votes following the confrontation with Mike, he admitted he was surprised by the final result.
He believed his biggest weakness was the absence of someone who was genuinely committed to keeping him in the game.
Brady said he sensed that his position was becoming increasingly dangerous, particularly after several conversations and comments made him question whether certain players were being completely honest with him.
He also recalled giving Mike an opportunity to express his frustrations before Tribal Council.
Rather than dismissing Mike’s concerns, Brady said he allowed him to speak and tried to acknowledge his perspective.
However, the damage had already been done, and Brady ultimately realized that the group no longer had a strong reason to keep him around.
He admitted that he needed someone willing to stand up for him strategically, but that support never materialized.
The Reaction to Brady’s Elimination and His Future in Wrestling

Despite receiving criticism from some viewers, Brady said he was not particularly bitter about how his time on the show ended.
He acknowledged that certain comments and confessionals were difficult to watch, but explained that he had experienced enough adversity throughout his life to understand that criticism was part of putting himself in the public eye.
As a professional wrestler, he was also accustomed to generating strong reactions.
Brady described his personality as polarizing, saying people either loved or disliked his energy. Rather than trying to appeal to everyone, he wanted to make an impression.
He was particularly grateful that his elimination episode coincided with a large watch party attended by people who supported him.
For Brady, the experience had already delivered something valuable beyond the competition itself: greater exposure for his wrestling career.
Having previously worked with WWE and now pursuing opportunities with AEW, he said appearing on Survivor had helped bring him closer to the national audience he wanted to reach.
He also pointed to the partnership between AEW and Paramount Plus, which he said would allow the wrestling company to use footage from his Survivor appearance in promotional video packages for his national television debut.
Brady admitted he had initially wondered whether he should tone down his personality because he knew it could be divisive. Ultimately, he decided to be himself.
He believed the opportunity to introduce himself to a much larger audience was worth taking, even if it meant becoming a controversial figure among viewers.
What Really Happened at the Merge Feast?
Brady also offered a behind-the-scenes account of the merge feast, revealing that the experience was considerably more chaotic from his perspective than viewers might have realized.
While other contestants were shown dealing with the challenges surrounding the feast, Brady said he was determined to enjoy the food and take advantage of the opportunity.
He jokingly revealed that he had consumed approximately seven or eight beers, considerably more than the one or two glasses of wine he believed most other contestants had.
He even removed the beads from a bottle opener used for the beer bottles.
Brady also recalled eating an unusual combination of foods, including dipping garlic breadsticks into strawberry jam and grabbing handfuls of blue cheese despite not particularly liking it.
One memorable moment showed him falling to his knees during the feast. While viewers might have interpreted the reaction as theatrical, Brady insisted it was genuine.
He explained that the physical challenges leading up to the merge had left him exhausted and struggling with his energy levels.
He recalled feeling close to passing out during a challenge and having to hold onto a basket in the water after it ended because he felt so weak.
The food therefore represented more than just a welcome meal. It was a much-needed opportunity to recover after days of intense physical demands.
As for strategy, Brady said there was relatively little serious game discussion during the feast. Most contestants appeared focused on eating, enjoying the moment and getting a sense of where everyone stood.
He admitted that he was also keeping an eye out for a possible hidden idol or advantage while enjoying the food.
Would Brady Return to Survivor?
Despite his early jury exit, Brady made it clear that he would happily return if given another opportunity.
He described the experience as an incredible opportunity and said he had enjoyed nearly every aspect of being on the island.
He even joked that being stranded in Fiji had done wonders for his skin, despite the limited effort he had put into maintaining it.
More seriously, Brady said the experience had taught him a great deal about himself and given him opportunities he deeply appreciated.
He emphasized that he would be willing to play again, even joking that he would continue competing until he was six feet underground.
Brady also pointed to Boston Rob Mariano as an example of why an early placement does not necessarily define a contestant’s future. Mariano finished 13th during his first appearance, but went on to become one of the most recognizable figures in the franchise.
For Brady, there may still be another chance to return and prove himself.
Although his first Survivor 51 journey ended at the first post-merge Tribal Council, he left with a stronger public profile, new opportunities in professional wrestling and plenty of unfinished business on the island.
